A finales de 2.016 ALCANTARA SYSTEMS firma el contrato con S.A.R.L- Agriculture Industrielle Sidi Moussa, para la realización del Proyecto de un Complejo Agroindustrial Integral en Adrar (Argelia). El proyecto se está desarrollando sobre una superficie de 5.000 ha y está compuesto de 4.000 ha de cultivo de Algodón, de una Desmotadora, de 1.000 ha de cultivos Hortícolas, de un Semillero, de una Central de Manipulación de Frutas y Hortalizas, de Naves Industriales y una Base de Vida. Este proyecto incorpora las más modernas tecnologías agrícolas e incluye un centro de manipulación y distribución comercial, y constituye un importante referente de cooperación bilateral, creando un modelo sostenible de desarrollo socio-económico en zonas desérticas.
Agroindustrial Integrated Project, Touggourt – Algeria

Starting in early 2015, we are currently conducting a comprehensive agribusiness project on behalf of the ONID (National Irrigation and Drainage Office) located in the city of Touggourt (Algeria). The project is developed on an area of 250 ha, to be held in 3 phases for the production of vegetables in greenhouses and 40 hectares of hydroponics with use of geothermal power for heating. This project incorporates the latest agricultural technologies and includes a handling center, supply chain and marketing of the production, resulting in a very important reference of bilateral cooperation, creating a sustainable model of socio-economic development in desert areas.

National program “Jaxaai Plan” – Senegal

“Jaxaai Plan” was a national program promoted by the government of Senegal where Alcantara Systems provided several prefabricated modular constructions for industrial use; and other prefabricated buildings for kindergartens, schools and social housing, of which Alcantara Systems donated a fully equipped daycare center. Also in Senegal, Alcantara has participated in different projects of technology transfer, developing sustainable models in the agricultural and fisheries sectors in collaboration with the Presidency of the country. International cooperation project – Algeria

Between 2004 and 2005, it carried out a project of international cooperation promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture of Algeria, where Alcantara was provider of the Algerian leasing company “SALEM”, project financed 100% by FAD credit issued by the Ministry of Economy of Spain and sovereign guarantee of the BAD. The project involved the creation of micro-enterprises for young graduates, specialized in analysis of soil, water and irrigation systems, maintenance of agricultural equipment, veterinary clinics, milk processing, poultry slaughterhouses, hygiene and disinfection.

The presence of our group in Senegal started with the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation (AECI), highlighting the construction of two desalination plants of 2000 and 3000m3 respectively, in the cities of Gandiaye and Fissel; and an agricultural integrated project (Gandiaye) with the cooperation of the CEAR Foundation, composed of a forage plot, livestock facilities for 300 goats of the Murcia-Granada breed, and processing and storage center of milk.

ALCANTARA SYSTEMS was established in 2003 by its founder D. Alejandro de las Heras, who brought all his know-how in the development of the primary sector, whose career dates back to the early 80s. Its references include pilot projects of technology transfer carried out with the IDCM (Institute of Vegetable Planting Development) of Staoueli (Algeria) making the first fertirrigation facilities, pioneers in the region. Subsequently, eight pilot fertirrigation installations were conducted throughout the Algerian territory for the ONAMA (National Bureau of Agricultural Material) and CASDEP (Cooperatives of Agricultural Development), which included the transfer of the latest technologies of the moment, training of local staff and a strategic plan, which was a key antecedent in the modernization
Export goats – Libya

In 1997, Alcantara got a technology transfer agreement with the Ministry of Animal Resources, for the exploitation of goats and exported seaborne 2000 animals of the Murcia-Granada breed, giving also training about animal care and sanitary measures.
Man-Made River – Libya

Between 1994 and 1996, Alcantara Systems provided several agroindustrial consulting services in different areas of Libya in collaboration with the great project that was developed in those years known as “Man-Made River”, a transfer that crossed the country to bring water to all regions.
Agroindustrial Integrated Project in Adrar – Algeria

In 1992 we started to build up the first phase of 7000 ha, for the company CAAS in Adrar (Algeria), which was the most important antecedent in the agricultural sector. 50 marshes of 200,000m3, 10 wells of water catchment, infrastructure in 10 sectors of 600 ha and a nursery of 60,000m2, fully automated, for the production of tomato concentrate, fruit and vegetables were constructed.

En 1992, se iniciaron los trabajos de una primera fase de puesta en valor de 7000 ha, para la sociedad CAAS en Adrar (Argelia), que constituyó el más importante antecedente de producción integral en agroindustria asociada. Se construyeron 10 pantanos de 200.000m3, 10 pozos de captación de agua, infraestructuras en 10 sectores de 600 ha y un semillero de 60.000m2, totalmente automatizadas, destinadas a la producción de tomate concentrado, frutas y hortalizas.

In 1985 Alcantara conducted the first private Agroindustrial Integrated Project in Algeria for the group The Moustakbel, on an area of 600 ha, in the region of Zouibet (W. Biskra), for the production of dried grapes and fruit.
The first pilot installation of fertirrigation system- Tunisia

In 1981 was carried out in Sousse (Tunisia), the installation of the first fertirrigation system in the Agricultural Cooperative of Nebhana, thanks to which installation for the first time, public subsidies for drip irrigation facilities were approved. Additionally, drilling equipment for the companies of Mr. Ali Ouslati and Mr. Jaziri Abdelhei, that constituted the first two private licenses for the catchment of groundwater resources.
